Everyone is using AI tools. Save time, be more productive, create faster… BUT one caveat: AI doesn’t get humor. I made a joke in a virtual meeting. My tone was exaggerated, my eyes fake serious, my posture adamant, and everyone laughed. (Or at least smiled. It wasn’t that funny.) But our AI tool added under next steps: "- Yujin to fax information after the call." And it’s totally right. I never corrected my *words.* But if it were human... it would have known. AI is also judgmental. In another meeting we were talking about last weekends football game (GO NINERS), and AI summarized: “No decisions, action items, or open questions were discussed.” I think it actually wanted to say: “Get back to work you lazy shits! Work work work! BEEP! BOP!” Again, it was semantically correct. But if it were human... it would have chilled. On the plus side, I’ve shared these examples with my team, And everyone laughs. (Or at least smiles.) If you have similar stories of AI missing the joke, or being unintentionally funny, please share in the comments, DM me, or just email. I'd love to collect your stories and share in a follow up post.
